MASU builds connections with Skoltech
Irina Shadrina, MASU Rector, has visited Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Moscow.
During the meeting with Aleksandr Kuleshov, Rector of Skoltech, they discussed cooperation between Murmansk Arctic State University and Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in terms of research and technological development in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. The rectors negotiated a joint work of the two institutions with industrial partners of Murmansk region.
In addition, Irina Shadrina took a look at Skolkovo's infrastructure and facilities, as well as spoke to professors, Master and Ph.D. students.
'Our partnership with such a unique and top-rank research institute will give us an opportunity to take research in the Arctic to a new level,' commented Irina Shadrina.' The first step on this journey is the signing of the cooperation agreement in the near future.'
Together, MASU and Skoltech will be working on theoretical and technological issues in the field of mining, permafrost and seasonal frost, carbon footprint in the Arctic, as well as the prospects of using drones for industrial purposes.
